The Truth about Woman
It is obvious that man and woman are made very different in more ways than one. The physical differences are rather clear and apparent, but there are many other differences that are not so apparent. There are undergoing changes in the societies of the world redefining the woman and her role as taught in the Bible. Many of the present feminist movements have established a woman quite different than what the Bible teaches. Apart from this fact, there is an attack upon the general importance of the family unit.
Origin of Woman
May we consider the origin of woman? When the evolutionists claim that mankind simply evolved by a process of natural selection. Have you ever thought the problem evolutionists have in explaining the origin of the woman? A woman with such a wonderful and complex nature given to man in the Garden of Eden by God describes God creation of beings as divine and Holy. Man and woman did not evolved together as the evolutionists would have to believe. We did not concurrently come into existence as a primitive form of life from nothing and then simultaneously evolved into male and female. There is only one intelligent answer as to the origin of man and woman. It is found in the book, the Bible. God created the man. God created the woman (Gen. 2: 18-25). Man is a social being (Gen. 2: 18). Hence, God made woman for man. Looking at Genesis 2: 18; we read, and may I add from (Matthew Henry's Commentary of the Bible)…"Now he that made him knew both him and what was good for him, better than he did himself, and he said, "It is not good that he should continue thus alone.’’ (1.) It is not for his comfort; for man is a sociable creature. It is a pleasure to him to exchange knowledge and affection with those of his own kind, to inform and to be informed, to love and to be beloved.
What God here says of the first man Solomon says of all men (Eccl. 4:9, etc.), that two are better than one, and woe to him that is alone. If there were but one man in the world, what a melancholy man must he needs be! Perfect solitude would turn a paradise into a desert, and a palace into a dungeon. Those therefore are foolish who are selfish and would be placed alone in the earth. (2.) It is not for the increase and continuance of his kind. God could have made a world of men at first, to replenish the earth, as he replenished heaven with a world of angels: but the place would have been too strait for the designed number of men to live together at once; therefore God saw fit to make up that number by a succession of generations, which, as God had formed man, must be from two, and those male and female; one will be ever one." May we remember, God could had very well made man as a solo being and allow him to remain the only inhabited being of the earth.
God made man first
God made woman not only for man but also from man (Gen. 2: 21, 22). The Word of God says, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man" (Gen. 2: 23, ishshah, woman, is feminine of ish, man). The fact woman was made for man and made from man is very significant in determining the role and needs of any woman is to fulfill that role thus meeting her inept needs. In fact, the very origin of the woman and her purpose provides a great insight about her social, physiological, mental, and emotional needs and make-up as a woman.
